Overview

The Maleny Art Awards and Exhibition is an initiative of the Anglican Parish of Maleny. It had its origin in the common vision of a few artists and art lovers who put together the first exhibition in 1994. Their objective was twofold, to raise funds for Church projects but at the same time create an annual event which would serve the local art community and put Maleny and the Blackall Range to the forefront of Fine Arts.

Over the past 17 years this has been achieved. The Maleny Art Awards have become perhaps the largest of its type on the Sunshine Coast attracting entries from over 240 local and interstate artists with prize money of $12,000.
